About the Ranch
What We Do
We raise miniature Highland and HighPark cattle for private sale. Although we respect other ranches who chose to use online auctions, you will not find our calves being auctioned. For us, it is about finding the right home, not the highest bidder. We strive for superior genetics and conformation so that you can enjoy your new family member for years to come. All of our calves will be dam raised to ensure we raise the healthiest calves possible. We encourage waitlisting so we can assist you in finding your perfect purchase!
Who We Are
Minimosa Ranch was established in 2020 in Alamosa,CO. We are a family run ranch consisting primarily of a husband-wife team that went from city slickers to ranch developers because we fell in love with mini Highlands. We were soon introduced to HighParks and now specialize exclusively in the Highland and HighPark breeds.
Where We Do It
Alamosa is located in Southern Colorado at an elevation of 7400'. We have a high desert climate that exposes our cattle to frigid cold winters and warm summers, ensuring a hearty constitution. We find that raising our cattle at this high elevation ensures that all buyers, from altitude to sea level, will receive healthy calves that are in less danger of developing pulmonary hypertension ("brisket") on arrival to their new homes.
